Chamber details upcoming activities
Fall clean up The Clarke County Citizens Against Littering will be sponsoring a countywide litter awareness and fall clean up week September 24 - 29. Citizens are encouraged to clean up around town and along their streets during this week. Trash bags will be available at the Chamber of Commerce office along with car litter bags. Allied Waste will have a dumpster behind Grove Hill Town Hall during the week for your litter and trash disposal. Please do not bring tires or household garbage. On Saturday, September 29 volunteers will be giving out car litter bags at Dunn's Exxon and Fast Track. Take time during this week to help clean up Grove Hill. Welcome Fall decorations All businesses and downtown merchants are encouraged to participate in the Chamber of Commerce's "Welcome Fall" decorating extravaganza. Everyone is asked to decorate their business with fall decorations from October 1 through Pioneer Day on November 10. Grove Hill will look very festive for our fall holiday sales and it will help promote our signature event Pioneer Day held at the Clarke County Historical Museum. This will make a great lead in to the Christmas Holiday Shopping time. The Grove Hill Beautification and Revitalization Committee and the Chamber of Commerce will decorate at the intersections of town. If you have questions or need ideas, please contact the chamber. Grove Hill mural Johanna Bush and Sharon Dozier have been painting the side the Keahey Law Office with a special large mural. This mural painting is a project of the Grove Hill Arts Council. In conjunction with the mural, the Town will be building a pocket park next to the Old Democrat Deli. Visitors to Grove Hill will be able to view the painting and enjoy our small town atmosphere at the park. A special dedication of the mural and park is planned at their completion. This is a project that all Grove Hill citizens can be proud of. Pioneer Day Grove Hill's signature event Pioneer Day will be held Saturday, November 10 on the grounds of the Clarke County Historical Museum. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free. With the addition of the Mathews Family log cabin at the Museum, the day should prove to be very historical and fun. Annual Christmas Parade Grove Hill's annual Christmas Parade will be held Thursday, December 6 beginning at 4 p.m. The theme for this year's parade is "Christmas Is…."
Please contact the Chamber office if you have any questions or suggestions and for registration information.
