Letter to the Editor
Supports Sheriff Moore

Dear Editor,

We read with great interest Mr. Hoffman's letter concerning the punishment of Sheriff Bobby Moore for not bodily removing two women who are 102 and 83 years old. This is the only home they have ever known and should never have been bothered in the first place! After all, what can you do with two acres of scrub land? Is there gold or oil or some other thing of great value hidden there?

Sheriff Moore recently asked the commission for more money for deputies for better service and security. Well, we think he's going to have to ask for a lot more money to build another jail to put all the new prisoners in that are sure to be arrested when these two elderly ladies are bodily evicted from their home. Let the judges, Mr. Wood and Mr. Hoffman do this job. There comes a time when legal isn't nearly as important as common sense and moral obligations.

Clarke County is small town U.S.A. and we're proud to live here where people know their neighbor and stand by them when they need help.
