Loftin

Samuel Lamar Loftin, 60, of Demopolis died Sept. 11, 2007 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 19, 1947 in Thomasville. He was a member of the Sweet Water United Methodist Church. He was director of operations at Rock-Tenn Company.

Survivors include two brothers, Jerry E. (Joyce) Loftin, Benjamin Michael (Sue) Loftin, both of Sweet Water; two nephews, Michael Loftin, Sweet Water, Mitchell (Amber) Loftin, Cullman; one niece, Jennifer L. (Jason) Pugh, Bashi; three great-nephews.

The service was Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden with Revs. Jackie Gaston and Walter Smith officiating. Burial was in the Old Liberty Cemetery in Nicholsville.

Active pallbearers were Michael Loftin, Mitchell Loftin, Jason Pugh, Stacey McManus, Jamey Propst, Danny Buchanon, Jep Buchanon and Tim Vick.

Honorary pallbearers were T.C. Adams, Jim Malone, Gary Malone, Jon Warner, David Tait, Don Skinner, Ronnie Hall, Steve Sanford, Ceyla Jones, Buffy Etheridge, Betty Johnson, Kathy Akin, Bobby Hodge, Shirley Harvey, Randy McManus, Dr. Paul Ketcham, and the Comfort Care Hospice Workers.
