Mississippi Pecan Festival Sept. 28-30

This year the Mississippi Pecan Festival will host "History Retold." The festival will present two reconstructed log homes that are over 100 years old. The Jones house and the Dunnam house.

Festival goers will be able to watch lye soap being made, talk to the farmer in the victory garden, view the chicken yard, sample homemade jellies in the kitchen of the Jones house, view quilting on the Dunnam porch and a live demonstration of split rail fencing.

A wagon and draft horses will fill the corn crib with this year's crop.

The 20th Annual Mississippi Pecan Festival will be held Friday, Sept. 28, Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30 in Richton.

For more information you may call 601-964-8201 or visit the web at www.mspecanfestival.com or you can write Mississippi Pecan Festival at P.O. Box 630, Richton, Miss. 39476.
