Struggling Movie Gallery closing Grove Hill store and 519 others

      The Movie Gallery store in Grove Hill is one of 520 being closed by the video rental chain as it struggles to cut costs and pay off debt. The Dothan-based company said it was closing underperforming and unprofitable stores that operate under the Movie Gallery and Hollywood Video names.

Diamond dispute gets out of hand, arrest made

Hair dryer shocks Grove Hill town clerk

      Grove Hill Town Clerk Cheryl Hicks was electrocuted by her hair dryer Monday morning. According to Mayor Lamar Hudson, Hicks was drying her hair when the dryer stopped. She shook the dryer to try to restart it and electricity flew out of it, striking her in the finger.
