Area Church Announcements Creels Chapel singing Oct. 6 Creels Chapel United Methodist Church will have a singing Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. featuring 2nd Mile plus other local talent. Magnolia 75th anniversary Magnolia Assembly of God Church located at 2166 Allen Road near Grove Hill will celebrate its 75th anniversary Sunday, Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m. during a special service. First Baptist Dedication Day First Baptist Church of Fulton will have Dedication Day Sunday, Oct. 7 for its new activities building. An Open House will be held from 2 until 4 p.m. Ebenezer Baptist missionary program set The Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church located on Highway 84 West, turn right at Clarke County 21, will have its annual missionary program Sunday, Oct. 7 at 2:30 p.m. The Missionary Department will feature a "Fashion Show" representing the Nine Virtuous Women." Wagarville Baptist concert Wagarville Baptist Church will have a concert Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. featuring the Crimson City Quartet. Special guests will be Sandra Beech and Craig and Charlotte Weaver. Louie W. Busby is the minister of music. Greater New Hope pastor appreciation Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church of Millry will celebrate its pastor, Rev. Ivory James and family's ninth year appreciation Sunday, Oct. 7. Minister A.J. Williams, member of the James Chapel Baptist Church of St. Stephens will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m. Rev. Bobby Johnson, pastor of the Gooden Hill Baptist Church of Putnam will be the guest speaker at the 2:30 p.m. service. Sister Gladys Daniels is the secretary. Rev. Ivory James is the pastor. Tompkins homecoming Tompkins Baptist Church will host its annual homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m. following with dinner on the grounds and a singing in the afternoon. There will be no evening service. The guest speaker will be evangelist Johnny Tucker. Revival services will begin Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. nightly. Bassett Creek week of celebration Bassett Creek Baptist Church will host its third annual Week of Celebration beginning Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. The morning service will feature the Southern gospel group, "The Fisherman" of Boaz. Sunday evening the message will be brought by Shannon Moses, pastor of Peniel Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Revival services will be held Monday, Oct. 8 through Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. nightly. There will be a different speaker each night: Monday evening the message will be brought by Dr. Bobby Hopper, DOM for the Bethel Association. Tuesday, the guest preacher will be Dr. Robert Kirkland, pastor of the Thomasville Baptist Church and Wednesday night, Dr. Teman Knight, director of the office of Leadership and Church Care for the Alabama State Board of Missions, will be the guest speaker. Local talent includes: Bridgette Shewmake, Darlene Phillips, Donald Pugh, Warren Harrell, Wayne Campbell, Rev. and Scotty, Centurions Quartet, Dixie Disciples, Grateful Heart, Glory Road Quartet and the Good News Quartet. In case of rain the singing will be held in the Fulton School Auditorium. There will be a cake auction and door prizes. Bring a chair. Holiness Church of Mobile will be the guest minister. All churches are invited. Operation Christmas Child Clarke Baptist Association located in Grove Hill will be a drop-off site for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes Monday, Nov. 12 through Sunday, Nov. 18. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse that takes gift filled shoe boxes to children in foreign countries. These boxes may be the only gift box this child may ever receive. Help give hope to a child through "A Simple Gift."
