Family attends Ashton Shepherd's first performance at Grand Ole Opry

About 30 friends and relatives were in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday to see Ashton Shepherd make her first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry. Among those attending were: Mrs. Jeanette Hamilton and son, Kelly, of Gautier, Miss.; Mrs. Janice Desporte of Chickasaw; Mrs. Joan S. Courington, Mrs. Bessie Autry, Jessica Autry, Joe Linder, Diane Staley, Dorinda Harper, Ashton's parents, Donnie and Denise Shepherd, her sister, Tara and brother, Scott and Brandi.

Descendants of the late James B. and Margaret Thompson gathered on Saturday, Sept. 29 for their annual reunion. Among those attending were: Ann and J.W. Wilson, Craig, Cindy and Joseph McVay, all of Beaumont, Texas; Jimmy Thompson of Robertsdale; Buster and Melvaline Thompson of Foley; Randy and Debbie Cooley of Berrydale, Fla.; Charlie and Charles Ray Thompson of Pace, Fla.; James, Angela and Brittney Gates of Grand Bay; Angela Mozingo and Cory White of Pensacola, Fla.; Amber Mozingo of Grove Hill; Charles and Aubrey May, David and Janice Mayhair, Lance Mayhair, Tiffany Mayhair, April Hayes, Johnny and Betty Autry and children, Harley, Meg and Abby, Jenni and Jonathan Walker, Elaine, Susan, Richard and Ella Nolan, Mike and Melissa Thompson and Larissa, all of Coffeeville. The reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Autry.

Mr. and Mrs. James Dunagan accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dunagan on Thursday to Fort Morgan to attend the wedding of their grandson and nephew, Joe Parr of Demopolis to Blair Smith on Saturday.

Also attending the wedding were: Glen Dunagan of Eufaula; Mr. and Mrs. Doug Elder of Lineville, Mr. and Mrs. Robby Dunagan of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Joey Chance, Frannie and Gabe of Prattville, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith, Joseph and Joshua of Cullman. The Dunagans returned home on Saturday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Greg Siavelis and Helen of Northport visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Jordan over the weekend.

Mrs. Wayne Rascoe spent the weekend with relatives in Mobile.
