Bulldogs use air-attack to down WCHS

      The Clarke County High School Bulldogs used a balance passing and running attack, as well as a smothering defense to turn away the Washington County Bulldogs 46-6 last Friday at H.G. Prim Stadium in Grove Hill. The win assures Clarke County, at the least, a home playoff spot.

Early miscues doom CPS Gators 20-16

      The Clarke Prep School Gators took a hard 20-16 loss this past Friday at the hands of Cottage Hill in Grove Hill at Hamilton Field. The Warriors took their opening possession and scored on a 7-yard touchdown pass. The added PAT gave Cottage Hill a 7-0 lead with 8:07 left in the first quarter.

Panthers lose 35-6 to Frisco City
      The Coffeeville Panthers fell to 0-7 on the season as they lost 35-6 to the Whippetts of Frisco City this past Friday night in a region game for both schools. The Whippets jumped out to a big, early lead running away with the win.

Babes finish second area tournament
      The Clarke County High School Babes beat Washington County in the first round of the Class 3A, Area 1 tournament and then lost in four games 15-25, 14-25, 25-16 and 23-25 to Mobile Christian to take second place. They Babes now will advance to the regional tournament, likely in Geneva.

CPS Pee Wee team finishes season
      The Clarke Prep Gator Pee Wee football team finished its 2007 season with its fourth straight victory Monday night as they rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Monroe Academy 12-8. With the win the Gators finish the season with a 4-2-1 record.

      The Thomasville Tigers traveled to Atmore this past Friday, October 12, and defeated the Escambia County Blue Devils 56 - 19 in a key region matchup for both teams. With the win the Tigers move to 6 - 1 on the year and 5 - 0 in the Region 1 race while the Blue Devils fall to 5 - 2 and 4 - 1.
