Brown

Charlie Brown, 68, of Thomasville died Oct. 10, 2007 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 29, 1939 in Cochran. He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. He was a retired maintenance worker.

Survivors include his wife, Levinna Brown, Thomasville; his mother, Verna Brown Winborn, Butler; one son, Charles E. Brown Jr., Newnan, Ga.; one daughter, Tami B. Black, Thomasville; two sisters, Jeanette Adams, Butler, Carolyn Dorris, Calera; four grandchildren.

The service was Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Scott Myers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Pineview Baptist Church Building Fund.

Active pallbearers were Todd Pierce, Tyler Pierce, Rusty Bishop, Wynn Morgan, Wayne Morgan, Craig Dorris, Chris Pilkington, Tim Dunn, Kannon Hutto, Steve Green, Andy Bagley, Ken Hamilton and Dan Makofski.

Honorary pallbearers were the Searchers Sunday School Class at Pineview Baptist Church.

Smith

Mayme Kelley Smith, 88, of Thomasville died Oct. 12, 2007 at Thomasville Nursing Home.

She was born June 13, 1919 in Thomasville. She was retired from Vanity Fair where she worked as a seamstress.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Smith, Carl Smith, both of Thomasville; two brothers, Gordon Kelley, Thomasville, Lonnie Kelley, Selma; four sisters, Eddis K. Williamson, Mable Trull, both of Mobile, Mary Baugh, Grove Hill, Nomie Clarke, Fulton; four grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.

The service was Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Ronnie Giles and David Guy officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.

Active pallbearers were Boyce Kelley, Eudell Dungan, Jimmy Williamson, Willie Williamson, Ricky Butts and Shaun Lassiter.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Kelley, Virgil Goodman, William Stephens, Elga Goodman, Don Phillips, Buddy Wells, Johnny Newsome and Eddie Clarke.
