Little Rock revival

Revival services for Little Rock Baptist Church of Gosport run through Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Rev. Clinton Johnson Sr. of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Mobile will be the evangelist for the week. Rev. Tommie Lee Chapman is the pastor.

Oak Grove fall festival

Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Chilton Community will have its fall festival Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. There will be a costume contest for all ages, games, activities, obstacle course and more. The evening will end with a hay ride.

The fall festival committee is asking those who can, to bring a two-liter coke, cake, cookies, candy or cup cakes for the Cake Walk. People of all ages are invited to come and enjoy the festivities. Rev. Morris Hill is the pastor.

New Greater Choir Day

New Greater First Baptist Church of Thomasville will have its Choir Day celebration Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. D.C. Harrison Sr. of Macedonia Baptists Church of Daphne. Rev. Carlton L. Hogue is the pastor.

Star of Zion has special event

The Star of Zion A.M.E. Church will be celebrating Family and Friends Day Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Sherman Lewis and the Berry's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church family will be the special guests.

The Rev. Irmatine Chastang invites all to attend.

Bassett Creek fall festival

Bassett Creek Baptist Church will host its annual fall festival Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. Children and adults of all ages are invited to be part of the fun.

There will be horse rides, giant slides, hayrides, cotton candy, trunk or treat and lots of surprises. Games will continue from 3-5:30 p.m. with a hamburger and hot dog cookout supper at 5:30 followed by a brief presentation and then ending the day with trunk or treat. There is no admission charge.

The youth will be conducting a fund-raising cake walk with a $1 donation to participate. Dress up in your favorite nonscary costume and don't miss a moment of the family fun.

Bassett Creek Baptist Church is located off Highway 43 approximately three miles north of Grove Hill.

GHUMC Trunk-or-Treat

Grove Hill United Methodist Church will have its Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Sunday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. with a fellowship dinner afterwards at 5:30 p.m. Come dressed in your Halloween costume.

There will be a cake walk, arts and crafts, lots of candy and lots of fun. If you would like to participate, decorate a car/truck/or golf cart, be in the parking lot by 3:30 p.m. Homemade cakes for the cake walk are needed.

If you know someone that would like to donate a cake please contact the church. Money raised from the cake walk will be used for the missions. Each walk will cost $1.

Mt. Gilead pastor appreciation

Mt. Gilead of Carlton will celebrate its pastor's fifth year anniversary Sunday, Oct. 28.

Minister Reginald Bush will be the 11 a.m. speaker. Dr. Howard Johnson of Truevine Baptist Church of Mobile will be the 3 p.m. speaker. Rev. L.E. Bush Jr. is the pastor.

James Chapel homecoming

James Chapel Baptist Church at 6080 Barlow Bend Road in Gainestown will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 28 at 12 p.m. Rev. Osbry Millender will be delivering the message.

Revival services will begin Monday, Oct. 29 through Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.

There will be a different speaker each night, Monday, Rev. Chester Williams, associate minister of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church; Tuesday, Rev. Wilson Gibby, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Waynewright, Ala.; Wednesday, Elder Robert Stokes, pastor of the New Life Holiness Church of Mobile; and Thursday, Elder Johnnie E. Clarke, a member of the Body of Christian Ministry of Atlanta, Ga. Sis. Kathy Bryant, clerk, Deacon Calvin Jackson, secretary, and Rev. Osbry Millender is the pastor.

Gainestown homecoming

Gainestown United Methodist Church located at 886 Madison Road will have homecoming Sunday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. Dinner will be held on the ground following the worship service.

Anniversary at St. Matthew

Pastor Kevin Boykin of New St. Matthew Baptist Church in the Lily Valley community of Jackson announces an anniversary celebration on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Clausell Boykin of St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff will be the speaker.

Revival services will be presented Monday, Oct. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 each evening.

Monday the Rev. Hurley James, pastor of St. Paul Baptist in Salitpa will be the speaker, the Rev. Robert Jackson, pastor of Good Will Baptist Church in Bladen Springs on Tuesday and on Wednesday will be the Rev. Ivory James, pastor of Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church in Millry as the evangelist.

Homecoming at McIntosh church

The United Methodist Church of McIntosh will host homecoming Sunday, Oct. 28. Worship service will be at 11 a.m. with dinner following in the fellowship hall. All are encouraged to bring a favorite covered dish.

Guest speaker Cliff Cobb works for the Alabama Department of Forestry. He will also speak during revival services Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7 each evening

Historic Andrews Chapel will be open to guests and the public from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The Rev. Molly Furford, pastor, invites everyone to come and take part.

Stave Creek festival planned

Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 6:30-8 p.m. a Wild West Fall Festival will be conducted at the Jackson National Guard Armory on Highway 69 North.

This will be a time of games, food, fun, praise and worship for all kids. The evening will include door prizes.

The festival is sponsored by the Stave Creek Baptist Church of Jackson. For additional information call 251-246-2701.

Anniversary at Goodwill

The community is invited to take part in the 106th year church anniversary of the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladon Springs Sunday, Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Guest speaker and special guests will be the Rev. Charlie E. York along with his choir and congregation of Highpoint Baptist Church in Eight Mile.

The Rev. Robert L. Jackson is pastor.

Fall revival at Stave Creek

Stave Creek Baptist Church on Highway 69 North in Jackson will be hosting a fall revival, Nov. 4-7.

Sunday services will be at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Monday through Wednesday will be at 7 nightly.

Leading the services will be Pastor John Copeland of the First Baptist Church in Fulton and Evangelist Don Graham. The Rev. Jeff Reeves of Fairhaven Baptist Church in Demopolis will direct the Stave Creek Baptist Choir.

Operation Christmas Child

Clarke Baptist Association located in Grove Hill will be a drop-off site for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes Monday, Nov. 12 through Sunday, Nov. 18.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse that takes a gift filled shoe boxes to children in foreign countries. These boxes may be the only gift box this child may ever receive. Help give hope to a child through "A Simple Gift."

Bible study at Fulton Baptist

The First Baptist Church of Fulton located at 949 Highway 178 will be studying the Book of Revelation on Sunday nights beginning at 5 p.m. Dr. John Copeland, pastor, will be leading the study.

Cemetery donations sought

Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville are asking for donations for the upkeep of the Thornton/Howze and Union Baptist Church Cemeteries. Send donations to P.O. Box 144, Coffeeville, AL 36524.

Coffeeville Cemetery
