Chance & Scyrene
Mrs. Retha Marshall of Chance enjoyed having two of her sons come home for a visit last week. Leo Marshall Jr. and Willie Marshall, both of Denver, Colo. visited in Chance. Willie was also accompanied by his family. They enjoyed spending time with the family and attending revival services at Chance Baptist. Mrs. Marshall especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren from Denver, twins, Caris and Cason. She looks forward to seeing them again in the near future.

The homecoming service held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Chance and at Chance Baptist Church were both huge successes.

Many people who are familiar with Fellowship Baptist and its yearly homecoming were in attendance Sunday, Oct. 7. Rev. Otto Ward, the pastor, delivered the homecoming message. Many former community members and church members traveled to the Taite Settlement in Chance to fellowship with others who they had not seen in a long while. As always, there was a lot of food available and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Chance Baptist held its annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 14. Two services were held that Sunday with pastor Marshall delivering the morning message, and Rev. Cleo McGrew of Silas delivering the 1:30 p.m. message. Even with the new addition to the sanctuary, the church was full. Additional seating was provided. Everyone enjoyed hearing from Rev. McGrew and enjoyed a lot of good singing. Dinner was served, which provided a good ending to a good day. Revival services were held at both churches the following week, three days and five days respectively.
