Jean Cooper Edge, 73, of Foley died Oct. 15, 2007 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley.

She was born Feb. 22, 1934 in Empire, Ala. She worked for 30 years in civil service before going to work for NASA in 1977. She was a Logistics Management Specialist from the beginning of the space shuttle program until she retired April 30, 1983 from NASA's JFK Space Center.

Survivors include her mother, Grace Cooper, Empire; one daughter, Sandra K. Dorff, Foley; one brother, Lee Roy Cooper, Empire; two sisters, Judith (William) Armstrong, Fultondale, Linda (Thomas) Reeves, Sumiton; several nephews, nieces and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Edge.

The service was Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at the Goodhope Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Rev. Thomas Reeves officiating. Burial was in the Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Active pallbearers were Ron Edge, Bill Newsome, Bobby Baugh, Ralph Hudson, Gerald Edge, Bill Hill, Dr. Robert Edge and Al Moore.
