Jax fire reported as arson
By Evan Carden Special to The Democrat

A case of arson was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Guy Avenue, Friday, Oct. 26.

According to Jackson Police reports, two rugs on the porch of the residence were discovered on fire by a family member returning home from a ball game. The blaze reportedly caused damage to the wood banister of the porch, before it was extinguished by the resident using a water hose.

Officer Darrell Jackson responded to the scene and took the initial report. No other damage to the home was reported and the case was turned over to the department's Investigator Richard Harvey.
