Kearley

James Gilbert Kearley, 86, of Grove Hill died Oct. 28, 2007 at his residence.

He was born April 18, 1921. He was a native of Vredenburg. He

was a member of Tompkins Baptist

Church. He was a

retired selfemployed merchant, owner of Bigbee Feed Mill and he was a dogwood sawyer. He served in the United States Army during World War II receiving Purple Heart recognition.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Kearley, Livingston, Larry Kearley, Grove Hill; three brothers, A.J. Kearley, Butler, V.D. Kearley, Mobile, Franklin D. Kearley, Butler; four sisters, Gladys Mae Armistead, Shirley Ann Crosby, both of Butler, Mary Alice Armistead, Selma, Frances Booker, Semmes; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

The service was Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home. Burial was in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill.

Active pallbearers were Toby Kearley, Patrick Kearley, Jake Kearley, Robby Kearley, Bryan Kearley, Lonnie Stone and Jesse
