Kearley James Gilbert Kearley, 86, of Grove Hill died Oct. 28, 2007 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1921. He was a native of Vredenburg. He was a member of Tompkins Baptist Church. He was a retired selfemployed merchant, owner of Bigbee Feed Mill and he was a dogwood sawyer. He served in the United States Army during World War II receiving Purple Heart recognition. Survivors include two sons, Terry Kearley, Livingston, Larry Kearley, Grove Hill; three brothers, A.J. Kearley, Butler, V.D. Kearley, Mobile, Franklin D. Kearley, Butler; four sisters, Gladys Mae Armistead, Shirley Ann Crosby, both of Butler, Mary Alice Armistead, Selma, Frances Booker, Semmes; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. The service was Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home. Burial was in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill.
