Simpson

Freddie Simpson, 68, of Grove Hill died Oct. 16, 2007 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.

He was born Feb. 27, 1939 in Jackson, Miss. He served in the United States Air Force. He

retired from the National Guard

after 17 years of

service. He was also

retired agent with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Abston Simpson, Grove Hill; one son, Terry (Ann) Simpson, Robertsdale; one stepson, Brad (Dana) Armistead, Melvin; three daughters, Shann

Craig) Hare, Thomasville, Jan Lambard, Gainestown, Cheryl

Da Da" (Steve) Moseley, Grove Hill; four sisters, Connie, Sandy, Linda and Jennie; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy D. and Gladys Crim Simpson Barfield.

The service was Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Church of God in Gilbertown with Revs. Fred Wiley and Pike Smith officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Melvin. Phillips Funeral Home of Gilbertown directed.

Active pallbearers were Bobby Moore, Jay Duke, Bobby Smith, Marty Lawshee, Brian Brown, Steve Bumpers, Bobby Squires, and Kenny Pritchett.

Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Brunson, Craig Hare, Steve Moseley, Clarke County Sheriff's Dept. and the ABC Board.
