Bank board chairman Grady Bedwell said he received a letter on the day of the celebration from Bettie May Howell of Huntsville, the last surviving female member of the bank's original employees. Mrs. Howell congratulated the bank on its accomplishments since 1962, remembering the other ladies- Bessie Armistead, Meba Dean Skipper and Virginia Talbert. The other branches of the bank also celebrated the day and Angeloyd Love of Grove Hill won the $1,000 EE Bond given away by the bank. Photos by Jim Cox and Barry H. Hendrix |
