October sales tax figures up from 2006

Sales tax figures for October improved from last year for three municipalities in Clarke County.

October 2007 figures for Grove Hill are $68,854.60 compared to $63,559.88 in 2006, according to City Clerk Cheryl Hicks.

October figures are up two percent from 2006 in Jackson and up 2.3 percent in Thomasville.

Final sales tax figures for fiscal year 2006 in Grove Hill totaled $737,816.73 and $816,598.00 in FY 2007.

Final tax figures in Jackson for fiscal year 2006 totaled $3,973,792.00, said City Clerk Betty Powell. The total was $4,070,835.00 for fiscal year 2007.

In Thomasville, final figures for FY 2007 totaled $4,414,144.15, according to City Clerk Debbie Ballard, and the total was $4,511,213.30 for FY 2006.
