Scott

Daniel Scott Jr., 60, of Walker Springs died Nov. 13, 2007 at the Eight Mile Nursing Home as he lost his battle with lung cancer.

He was born Oct. 29, 1947 in Walker Springs. He received his education from Alberta Elementary School and Harper High School in Jackson. He joined the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

He moved to Chicago in 1969 and opened his own business. He was a devoted son who in 1997 relocated to Walker Springs and cared for his parents until their passing. To his many family members and friends, he was known simply as "June" or "Muck Muck." He was fun-loving, kind and especially liked to showcase his "culinary skills" by baking egg pies.

Survivors include one son, Keith Scott, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, one devoted, John (Lillie) Scott and Danny Scott, all of Chicago; one sister, Geraldine Williamson, East Hartfort, CT; an aunt; five grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Daniel Scott Sr. He was four of seven children, one sister and three brothers who preceded him in death.

The service was Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Walker Springs. Burial was in the Hotel Hill Cemetery in Walker Springs. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
