McGowin

Juanita Spann McGowin, 98, of Jackson died Nov. 23, 2007 at an assisted living facility in Thomasville.

She was born July 17, 1909. She was a native of Chapman, Ala. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jackson. She was a self-employed bookkeeper.

Survivors include one son, John Douglas McGowin, Jackson; one daughter, Clementine Whitman, Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, E.M. Spann, Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Virginia S. Bedwell, Mobile, Gloria Spann, Georgiana; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The service was Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Jackson. Burial was in the Pinecrest Cemetery in Jackson. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
