      Bettye Voncille McCall and Eric Dewayne Chapman were united in marriage on Oct. 25, in a private ceremony officiated by the Rev. Dr. Q.E. Hammonds. The bride is a native of Thomasville and is the daughter of Shirley McCall Hannah and William Talley, both of Thomasville.

Family welcomes birth of son
      Steven and Julia (Cobb) Koon of Gordo are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Alexander Steven Koon, on Oct. 5, 2007. Alex was born at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa at 4:21 pm. He weighed seven pounds and 12 ounces and was 19-and one half-inches-long.
