Rutherford to be sentenced Monday
By Kathryn Pickard News Reporter

Sharon L. Rutherford, a former Coffeeville High School teacher, will be sentenced Monday, Dec. 10, on two counts of enticing a child to enter a room or vehicle for immoral purposes.

She was found guilty of the Class C felonies in Clarke County Circuit Court Oct. 24. The charges involved 14 and 15- year-old students at CHS.

Rutherford, 32, of Thomasville, could get a year and a day up to 10 years in prison for each count. Whether she serves the sentences consecutively or concurrently will be decided by the Judge Thomas Baxter.

She still faces a charge of solicitation for murder. She allegedly tried to convince another student, with whom she had a sexual relationship, to murder her husband, James Rutherford.
