Christmas in Jackson
The City of Jackson conducted its annual tree lighting ceremony Nov. 30 to kick off the Christmas season in the Pine City (left photo). Mayor Richard Long and members of the city council delivered Christmas messages to the large crowd that gathered downtown for the event. Long gave the order to light the city's Christmas tree. A visit from ole' St. Nick was also on tap for the evening's events (right photo). The jolly elf made his rounds through the crowd, talking with the children and spreading Christmas cheer. He also stuck around for photos following the tree lighting ceremony.
