She was born Oct. 22, 1921. She was a member of Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill where she served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was treasurer of the building fund. She was a member of Bertha Mae Chapter #314. She was retired as an insurance agent for Unity Burial Life Insurance Company. Survivors include her husband, Fred Martin, Grove Hill; three brothers, Evie Lewis Pugh, Eddie Roy (Marie) Pugh, all of Grove Hill, Fletcher Lee (Theresa) Pugh, Rancho Palos Verds, Calif.; one daughter, Willie Mae (Roy) Nobles, Mobile; two sisters, Inez Pugh, Peola Pugh, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; one granddaughter; four great-grandchildren.
The service was Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Rev. Cory Pruitt officiating. The Eastern Star ceremony was performed. Burial was in the Mt. Zion #2 Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
