Pugh

James Floyd Pugh, 73, of Thomasville died Nov. 27, 2007 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 5, 1934 in Holtamville. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He was a retired tractor mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth G. Pugh, Thomasville; three daughters, Bobbie Joyce (Al) Robertson, Birmingham, Wanda Jean (Ray) Hooks, Noley Faye (Charles) Roberts, all of Thomasville; four stepsons, James (Wilda) Gilchrist, Alma, Gary (Beverly) Gilchrist, Panama City Beach, Fla., Phil (Lucy) Gilchrist, Jackson, Stevie (Betty) Gilchrist, Grove Hill; one stepdaughter, Jackie (Ray) Williams, Chance; five brothers, Ben Pugh, Alfred Pugh, both of Thomasville, George Pugh, John Pugh, W.T. Pugh, all of Grove Hill; 13 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.

The service was Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church with Revs. Paul Kendrick and Rex Jackson officiating. Burial was at the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Donald Pugh, Phillip Gilchrist, Richard James Roberts, Wayne Gaddy, Bill Reynolds and Gary Pugh.

Honorary pallbearers were Burl Wilkerson, James Alford, Harold Megginson, Monroe Smith, Melvin Smith, Charles G. Roberts and Jerry McCall.
