C-M Gas gives groups office space Board members of Clarke- Mobile Counties Gas District voted in favor of donating office space in the new Grove Hill office to Clarke County Development Foundation and Twin Rivers Economic Development Partnership. "I am pleased that these offices will be in the center of the county," said Thomasville Mayor Sheldon Day. He added that there should be a lease agreement between the organizations and the gas company with the use of the office space listed as a donation. ThyssenKrupp Bone Contracting of Greenville was awarded the bid for gas line relocation at the ThyssenKrupp steel mill plant site and the bridge crossing Highway 43 to the site in Calvert. The low bid was for $5,317,000 and all but $790,000 will be reimbursed by the state. CMC management team members met with Thyssen- Krupp consultants Monday afternoon. Manager Tommy Horsley said he expects the company to make a decision soon on who will supply gas for ThyssenKrupp. Other business CMC Gas board meetings will be held on the third Monday of every month, beginning in 2008. January's meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22 because Monday commemorates Martin Luther King Jr.'s Day.
Board members voted to participate in the Main Street Prepay project. The agreement includes a 30 year prepay project.
