Hunter

Flora Mae Jones Hunter, 86, of Jackson died Dec. 4, 2007 at the University Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

She was born Sept. 17, 1921. She was a native of Sweet Water. She was a member of the Star Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Sweet Water. She was under watch care at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson. She was a graduate of Alabama State University as a retired educator.

Survivors include one son, Pastor Gregory (Deborah) Powe, Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Clifford (Charlene) Jones, Jackson; one sister Johnnie (Wilkerson) Sewell, Sweet Water; four grandchildren.

The service was held Dec. 12 at the Star Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Sweet Water with Rev. John Wright and Pastor Gregory Powe officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery in Nicholsville. Jackson Memorial Funeral directed.

James

Dan James Jr., 76, of Jackson died Dec. 9, 2007 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 5, 1931. He was a native of Sunflower. He was a retired saw operator for C.E. Harrell Loggins of Sunflower.

Survivors include two sons, Clifton James, Albert (Ella) James, both of Jackson; four daughters, Jacqueline D. James, Van (James) Gaston, both of Jackson, Shirley (Lonnie) Campbell, Mobile, Sonya (Terry) Stewart, Texas; two brothers, Jessie James, Sunflower, Samuel James, Indiana; one sister, Atlean Brown, Sunflower; an adopted sister, Rev. Georgia Nash, Choctaw Bluff; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 14 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will be Saturday, Dec. 15 from 1:30 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. service at the Inspiration Tabernacle Church in Jackson. Burial will follow in the Inspiration Tabernacle Church Cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
