For the youth

We've all heard the gripe over and over, "There's nothing for kids and young people to do in Grove Hill." Now, there is, and we have local businessman George Jones to thank.

Mr. Jones recently renovated Mack Kelley's old shop into a nice skating rink. Twin Rivers Skating Rink offers entertainment for youngsters of all ages (even over-the-hill kids brave enough to tie on a pair of skates!).

A recent Friday night visit found about 35 youngsters from pre-schoolers to teenagers enjoying the skating arena.

There is a food concession area with drinks, popcorn, hot dogs and other goodies. A couple of video games can provide entertainment when the kids tire of skating.

The skating rink is open to the public Thursday-Saturday.

Best of all, it is a clean and safe environment for youngsters. Mr. Jones wants everyone to have a good time but he will not condone any misbehaving.

Nothing to do in Grove Hill? Not so…go skating!
