'Christmas Around the World'

The first graders at Grove Hill Elementary have been having an eventful month as they have been studying about Christmas Around the World. The classes are studying about at least one country on each continent. The students are learning about the different traditions that these countries have during the holidays. While studying the other countries, students have been creating crafts that represent that country. The students had a special treat when Mrs. Carassco came and spoke about Christmas in Mexico, teaching the students some Christmas terms in Spanish and ending with a delicious Mexican cookie. The Christmas Around the World unit will end with an international breakfast, with foods from the countries they learned about. Contributed Photo
