Principal's Column

Britton Barnes, Madge Becton, Jasmine Gates, and Caleb Smith ring the Salvation Army Bell at Dunn's Exxon.
It is hard to believe but this school year is already half over. All students will return to school on Jan. 8 and will receive their first semester grades Jan. 10.

This report card is very important because it shows if a child has passed or failed the first semester in school. I will notify by mail all parents whose children are failing any subject so they can set up a parent-teacher conference in early January.

Also, as we approach the second semester, it means that the state testing period is not far away. Our students did a great job last year in all sub-groups on the ARMT and Stanford-10. However, this year is a new year with higher goals to achieve.

Our students have been involved in community service projects this semester. All students had an opportunity to participate in the annual Thanksgiving food drive and to give to the Salvation Army. Many of our SGA and Beta Club members have rung the bell for the Salvation Army during their Annual Christmas Fund Drive.

The faculty and staff of Wilson Hall Middle School wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. We have a great group of kids here who work hard and really seem to enjoy coming to school to learn. Again, thank you for sending us your children. Happy New Year!
