Old CCHS facing wrecking ball

As students and faculty started moving into the new Clarke County High School last week (bottom photos), the wrecking ball loomed closer for the old high school building, built in 1936 (above). The new school is on the site of a 1920s grammar school that was demolished. Plans are to demolish the '36 building next for a parking lot. Some CCHS alumni and others are wondering if the building might be saved and put to some kind of use by the school system. See the editorial on Page 4A for some thoughts on the subject.
