Lura Vance Drinkard James, 90, of Fulton died Jan. 3, 2008 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.

She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Clarke County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, James R. (Imogene) Drinkard, Donald J. (Sharon) James, all of Fulton, Robert E. (Sandra) James, Dothan; five daughters, Mary E. (Bennie) Pugh, Jackson, Patsy J. (Edward) Fisher, Pensacola, Fla., Judy (Jim) Thompson, Vineland, Emma J. (Billy) Criswell, Mildred R. (Warren) Shewmake, all of Fulton; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dannie Lee James and a daughter, Edna Earl James.

The service was Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Fulton with Revs. John Copeland and Warren Shewmake officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Rickey James, Todd Pugh, Eddie Fisher Jr., Lynn Criswell, Johnny Criswell, Shawn James, Jimmy Thompson and Kenny Drinkard.

Honorary pallbearers were Curtis James, Perry James, Danny James, Neal James, Tony Pugh, Troy Pugh, Jeff Shewmake and James Shewmake.
