Chance Baptist sets revival
Chance & Scyrene
      Chance Baptist Church will observe its annual spring revival services beginn ing Monday, April 14 through Wednesday, April 16. The speaker for this event will be Rev. Cleo McGrew of Silas. Services will begin each night at 7:15 p.m. All surrounding churches are invited to attend and participate. Rev. C. L. Marshall Sr. is the pastor.

Dr. Rivers autographs books
     Laurie Cumbie watches as Dr. Terry Rivers autographs a copy of his novel, "The Jihad Germ" at City Drugs last Friday. Rivers grew up in Grove Hill, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Rivers. County anti-litter group promotes cleanup in April
      The Clarke County Citizens Against Litter Committee needs your help. April is the statewide cleanup month. The committee is asking every citizen in Clarke County to help pick up litter if you are able. Please take one large garbage bag and fill it with litter in your area. If every one will do this Clarke County can be a clean county.

Coffeeville group plans annual spring cleanup
      The Coffeeville community's annual spring cleanup kickoff will start Saturday, April 12 at 8 a.m. until. The meeting place will be at the Coffeeville Town Hall. A dumpster will be available across from Greer's from April 12-19. Please do not put any debris, tires, batteries or appliances that have freon in them.

Clarke Homemakers host district meeting at Tompkins Baptist
      The Clarke County Homemakers hosted the District III Alabama Homemakers and Community Leaders annual meeting at Tompkins Baptist Church March 25. Members of AHCL attending were from Sumter, Madison, Hale and Clarke counties. Carol Davis, Clarke County President welcomed all and led the group in the Pledge and Creed.
