J. C. Winston, 77, of Whistler died at a local health care facility April 29, 2008. He was a native of Demopolis.
Survivors include three daughters, Kale Robinson, Eight Mile, Debra Franklin Winston, Norfolk, Va., Tongia Brown, Prichard; three sons, James "Pete" Winston, Prichard, Al Winston, Eric Winston, both of Rockville, Md.; four brothers, Wesley Winston, Bellamy, Forest L. Winston, Chicago, Ill., Leroy Winston, Matthew Winston, both of Mobile; three sisters, Alice Russell, Dayton, Ill., Johnnie Mae Winston, New York, Nettie Chaney of Jackson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The service was May 6 at 11 a.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Prichard. Burial was in Whispering Pines Cemetery. Samuel L. Jackson's Mortuary directed.
