Peter Sterling Gardner, 61, of Jackson died May 13, 2008 at a local hospital.
He was born Oct. 22, 1946. He was a member of the Iron Workers #798 for 42 years. He was a 32nd degree Masonic Mason with duel membership at Santa Fe Lodge #226 Jackson and Citronelle Lodge #636. He was also a member of Old Washington Baptist Church of Hawthorn.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Linda Gartman Gardner, Jackson; one son, Shannon (Shonda) Gardner, Jackson; five daughters, Angela (James) McQuigg, Cathy (Troy) Wilson, all of Monroeville, April Gardner, Frisco City, Sandy Dunagan, Grove Hill, Pam Gardner, Neynen, Ga.; three brothers, Woodrow (Marilyn) Gardner, Eight Mile, Bert (Arlene) Gardner, McIntosh, Lenn (Sandy) Gardner, Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Rosalee Howard, Semmes, Esther (Larry) Smith, Betty Jean (Billy) Jordan, all of Eight Mile; 19 grandchildren.
The service will be Thursday (today), May 15 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel of Jackson with Rev. Lloyd Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Masonic graveside services.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Jordan and members of the Santa Fe Lodge.
