Last day to register to vote

The Board of Registrars would like to let everyone wanting to register to vote in the June 3, 2008 election, the last day to register or to update information is Friday, May 23. Anyone that needs to register should come by the Registrars office in the Clarke County Courthouse Monday through Friday from 8 until 12 and 1 until 4:30 p.m.

WHHS Class of 1968 meets

Williamson family reunion in Wilmer

The Williamson family reunion will be Saturday, May 24 at Wilmer First Bapist Church. All family members and friends are invited to attend. For more information you may call 251-645-6118.

Calvary homecoming

Calvary Baptist Church will have its homecoming Sunday, May 25 with Dr. Danny Harvey, a former pastor of the church, speaking at the morning service. The Rev. David Dunn, new pastor, announced the 17th anniversary of the church. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. with preaching at 11 a.m. Dinner on the grounds will follow the morning service. A youth service will follow the meal in the main auditorium with singing, music and a message by youth minister, David James Dunn. The church is located on Highway 43, north of AC Fabricated.

VFW Memorial Service

The VFW will have a memorial service Monday, May 26 at the National Guard Armory in Thomasville, Memorial Day at 10 a.m. assisted by its ladies auxiliary. The national rituals will be held and "Taps" will be performed. The roll call of the deceased party members will be read. Everyone is invited.

The VFW will also meet for its regular monthly meeting Monday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at the post home. Bereavement group meets

SouthernCare provides a bereavement support group the last Thursday of every month at 3 p.m. The meeting is at the SouthernCare office located in Grove Hill beside McVay's Home Care. HIPPY graduation set

HIPPY Clarke County graduation 2008 will honor its first class of HIPPY families (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) Thursday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Grove Hill Elementary School Gymn. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

Blood drive to be held

SouthernCare is sponsoring a blood drive through United Blood Services to be held on Friday, May 30 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. United Blood Services provide blood to the local hospitals and facilities. Coffeeville celebrates 200 years

The Town of Coffeeville will celebrate 200 years of success on Saturday, May 31. The genealogy committee would like every one of Coffeeville to display his or her heritage on that day. Please furnish your own display table and cover. If you have artifacts to loan to the committee, they will be protected and returned. If any citizen has special artifacts or pictures that can be displayed on the Coffeeville history table, please contact one of the committee members. Please start gathering your pictures and artifacts now so you will be prepared by May 31. Please be at Town Hall at 4 p.m. to set up your display.
