Nannielou "Nan" Clanton Hall, 99, died July 10, 2008, in Wilder Nursing Home in Dadeville, just 10 days shy of her 100th birthday.
Mrs. Hall had lived in Grove Hill for many years before moving to Dadeville. She and her husband, the late E.T. "Buster" Hall, were well known in the area for their beautiful yard. She was a member of Grove Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Nanelle (Herbert) Bruce, Dadeville; three sisters, Helen Smith, Selma, Ethel Larrimore and Ida Dortch, Mobile; five grandchildren, Jeff (Cindy) Bruce, Newnan, Ga., Jerry (Debbie) Bruce, Morris, Tom (Jackie) Cowden, Fultondale, Susan (David) Pierce, Jacksonville, Fla., Beth (David) Norris, Excel; and 10 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ed Hall, Atlanta, Ga., a daughter, Sue Cowden, Grove Hill; two sisters, Martha Jane "Mattie" Nunn, Jennings, Fla., Louise Jones, Monroeville; two brothers, Lamar Clanton, Thomasville, Lindsey Clanton, Olympia, Wash.
Visitation was held July 11 at Alabama Funeral Home in Dadeville. Graveside services were held July 12 at 10 a.m. at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
