Gene Miley Black, 89, of Gallion died Aug. 19, 2008 in Demopolis.
She was born April 15, 1919. She was a native of Polkville, Miss. She was a former resident of Jackson, Ala. She was a retired supervisor for Vanity Fair Mills in Jackson.
Survivors include one son, William Ray Black, Gallion; one brother, Noble Walters, Jackson, Miss.; one sister, Alice Edwards, Escatawpa, Miss.; two grandchildren, Rhonda Haynes and Richard Martin; four greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Black; two sons, Larry and David Black; a daughter-in-law, Louise Black and a grandson, Jim Black.
A graveside service was Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson, (located on the Walker Springs Road). Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
