Orrie Leon Jackson, 47, a native and resident of Gainestown, died Sept. 2, 2008 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
He was born Jan. 7, 1961. He was a 1979 graduate of Jackson High School. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church of Gainestown.
Survivors include two sons, Keyon Jackson, Shelton Jackson, both of Gainestown; a daughter, Brittney Jackson, Gainestown; three brothers, K.C. (Pearlie) Jackson, Chicago, Ill., King David Jackson, Gainestown, W.C. (Carol) Jackson, Choctaw Bluff; seven sisters, Shirley Bryant, Grove Hill, Louida Hopkins, Juanita Hopkins, both of Chicago, Ill., Virginia Jackson, Linda Leggett, both of Gainestown, Peggy (Clausell) Pritchett, Walker Springs, Debra (Wendell) Jackson, Rockville; longtime companion, Equinda Foxx;
He was preceded in death by his parents, King David and Alice Jackson, three brothers, Robert Jackson, Richmond Jackson and Charles Jackson.
The service was Sept. 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Saint John Baptist Church at Gainestown with Rev. Clayton Davis Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Saint John Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
