Eddie Dale Burrell, 59, of Chatom died Sept. 2, 2008 at a Mobile hospital.
He was born Feb. 3, 1949. He was a native of Brookhaven, Miss. He was a member of TrueVine Baptist Church of Chatom. He was a truck driver for Powell Trucking of Grove Hill. He had previously worked in the oil field.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Burrell, Chatom; two sons, Troy McDonald, Chatom, Trent "Peanut" McDonald, Pace, Fla.; two daughters, Stacey Lee, Carencro, La., Alisha "Soopie" Burrell, Biloxi, Miss.; his mother, Alice Sanderford, New Iberia, LA; step-father, Homer Sanderford, New Iberia, LA; three sisters, Darlene LaBlanc, Beth Turner, Jo Ann Leleux, all of New Iberia, LA; eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Burrell Jr., Waylon Todd Burrell and a daughter, Hollie Renee' Burrell.
The service was Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. at TrueVine Baptist Church located on Sawmill Road in the Spring Bank Community in Chatom with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial was in the TrueVine Baptist Church Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directed.
Active pallbearers were Ken Lee, Luke Jordan, Allen Frioux, John Ray McDowell, Peanut McDonald and Gage McDonald.
