Mary Anderson Glover, 95, of Leroy died Sept. 17, 2008 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
She was born Oct. 5, 1913. She was a native of Thomasville. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Leroy where she taught Sunday School for 53 years. She had been a loyal supporter of the Leroy Bear Athletic teams since moving to Leroy to teach school in 1934.
Survivors include one son, Ben N. (Anne) Glover Jr., Mobile; three daughters, Mary Bowling Glover, Leroy, Emily (Tommy) Prine, Knoxville, Tenn., Billie Sue Hosier, Mobile; one sister, Louise (Charles) Christmas, Jemison; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben N. Glover Sr.
The service was Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Leroy with Rev. James Watkins officiating. Burial was in the Bowling Family Cemetery in Leroy. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
Active pallbearers were Arnold Brazell, Charlie Anderson, Donnie Johnston, Joel Johnston, Ben Prine, Rusty Glover, Bill Glover and Johnny Johnston.
