Promises to 'grow Grove Hill'
Jerry Newton was elected the new mayor of Grove Hill Tuesday. Newton polled 188 votes, 52.8 percent, to incumbent Lamar Hudson's 168. Hudson was seeking a second term. Newton was visibly taken aback when Town Clerk Cheryl Hicks announced the totals but quickly regained his composure. More...
