Donald Finley Daughtery, 55, died Oct. 6, 2008 at his residence after battling cancer.
He was born Sept. 2, 1953 in Mobile he grew up in Springfield, Mo. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Law School. He practiced law in Atlanta and at Delta Air Lines, Inc. He was a private pilot, voracious reader, loved golf and baseball. He was a board member of Druid Hills Golf Club, cochairman of the Dogwood Invitational Golf Tournament, co-captain of the American team of the Quigg Cup Golf Competition. He cherished his relationships with the British Quigg Team.
Survivors include his wife, Floy Oliver Daugherty; one son, Donald Finley Daugherty Jr.; parents, Christine (Brown) Finley Daugherty, Mobile; one brother, Lyman (Kim) Daugherty, Austin, TX; sister, Nancy (Ed) Daugherty of Allentown, PA. Grandson of the late Lyman and Lessie (Harris) Daugherty of McIntosh and the late Coley and Alliene (Etheredge) Brown of Jackson.
A memorial service was held Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, Ga. at 1328 Peachtree St.
