Evelean Hill Taite, 85, of Dickinson died Oct. 6, 2008 at her residence.
She was born June 2, 1922 in Little Rock, Ark. She was a member Truevine Baptist Church in Dickinson where she served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, superintendent, and church secretary. She previously was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Chance and Midway Baptist Church in Dickinson. Her memberships included Pugh Success Chapter No. 838 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Heroines of Jericho Annie's Pride Court No. 9. She was also a member of the Clarke County Burial Association. She was retired from Scotch Lumber Co. in Fulton after 23 years
Survivors include eight daughters, Janie Mae Taite, Annie Pearl Welch, Evelean Delois Kidd, all of Chance, Ella Ann McCall, Bettye Roberson, both of Monroeville, Helen Brownlee, Mattie Taite Dotson, both of Grove Hill, Joyce Arnold, Thomasville; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
The service was Oct. 11 at All Saints Holiness Church in Lower Peach Tree with Rev. Roderick Scott officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery in Chance. Reese Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
