He was born Dec. 17, 1931. He was a member of Ulcanush Baptist Church in Coffeeville. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Mobile. He was a Lock Tender for the Corp of Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly L. Montgomery, Mobile; one son, Gene Montgomery, Mobile; one brother, Charles Montgomery, Mobile; one grandchild, Hadley Montgomery, Mobile.
The service was Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. at Ulcanush Baptist Church in Coffeeville with Rev. William Scruggs officiating. Burial was in the Ulcanush Baptist Church Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
Active pallbearers were Tommy Deas, Davis Deas, Stan Walker, Danny Lee, David Lee, Dupree Sellers and Jack Conwell.
Honorary pallbearers were C.D. "Lefty" Anderson, Vanoe McVay, Donnie Lee Parden and Tom Henderson.
