A groundbreaking for a new $8 million Hampton Inn to be built at the intersection of Highway 43 and the Walker Springs Road in Jackson was held last Thursday. Tom Bolton (left in photo) is the principal in the development group Rabbit Creek Properties, LLC that is building the new hotel. He's also president of Cooper Brothers Construction, the company that built an addition to New Era Cap's Jackson plant and the new Clarke County High School in Grove Hill. A large crowd turned out for the groundbreaking, including Jackson Mayor Richard Long and other Jackson and county officials and local business leaders. Capstone Bank, one of the banks financing the project, provided a barbecue lunch.
