      New Clarke County Commissioners Karen Bradford and Tyrone Moye will have a hard decision to help make not long after they take office on Nov. 12. Because of the poor housing market, a poor economy and perhaps other problems, Louisiana Pacific has decided to delay the reopening of the new $250 Clarke County oriented strand board mill.

Congrats to brother, others
      It was democracy in action in a lot of little Alabama towns and cities Monday night as new and reelected mayors and council members took office for four year terms following municipal elections in August and October. Coffeeville and Grove Hill each installed new mayors and a new council member and reinstated four re-elected council members.

      Next week, we will have the opportunity to pay tribute to our nation's bravest citizens, the men and women who have served in America's armed forces. What began in 1918 as a salute to the veterans of World War I, today, 90 years later, Americans continue to pause and say thank you to all who have served in defense of our country.

Correction
      We have learned not to laugh at other newspaper's goofs too hard because we will goof up next. So it was last week when we noticed and laughed at a neighboring county weekly consistently spell new Judge Pedro Scurlock's last name as Spurlock.

Who won and who lost?
      You have the luxury of knowing the outcome of the Presidential Election as you read this column. However, I am at a disadvantage in that I had to go to print prior to Tuesday's election. By any measure it has been a historical and watershed election. There was no incumbent president or vice president on the ballot for the first time in decades.
