Bessie Lee Ott Goodman, 94, of Richton, Miss. died Dec. 2, 2008 at Perry County Nursing Home in Richton.
She was born Oct. 7, 1914. She was a native of Clarke County, Ala. but resided in Richton for the last seven years. She grew up in what was known as the Forrestdale community near Chilton. She served as a pastor's wife beside her late husband, Rev. Ernest Goodman. She was a member of the Thomasville Church of God. She had worked many years in the textile mills as a seamstress. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Rachel (Gene) Dolbear, Richton, Miss.; two brothers, Hardie (Charlotte) Jenkins Ott, Jackson, Walter (Claudine) Ott, Grand Bay; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ernest Goodman, four sons, Dewey, Kenneth, Alex and Daniel.
The service was Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Revs. Jimmie Hicks and Martin Hicks officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.
Active pallbearers were Matthew Dolbear, Jonathon Dolbear, Jason Dolbear, Turner Dolbear, Connor Dolbear and Gene Dolbear.
