She was born Feb. 5, 1925 to the late Tollie and
Coates Sr. in Coffeeville. She was one of nine siblings, four of which preceded her in death. She was a faithful member of the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church where she served as a steward, a member of the Daughters of Allen and Finance Board. She was also a member of The Women's Missionary Society and the Lay Organization.
Survivors include three daughters, Jacqueline R. Payne, Mobile; Beverly R. Dixon, Janice R. Warner, both of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Tollie Coates Jr., Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Mary (Robert) Williams, Cleveland, Ohio, Elmaree Osborne, Coffeeville, Gravel Morris, Allen; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many neighbors and friends.
She was married to Willie Robinson Jr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1994.
The service was Dec. 13 at 12 noon at Metropolitan A.M.E. Church in Mobile with Rev. Sampson Spencer officiating. Burial was in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile.
