Sunny South offers lights—Sunny South United plans to offer for Christmas 2008, and Easter 2009, the lease of individual solar lights. The solar lights will beautify the square for each of the holiday seasons and will honor loved ones still with us or memoralize those who are no longer in our presence. The lights may be leased for $4 each or one may lease three lights for $10. The fee quoted will lease the light or lights for both Christmas 2008 and Easter 2009. AIDS Coalition to meet Jan. 9—The Southwest Alabama AIDS Prevention Coalition will not meet in December. The next meeting will be Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Monroe County Health Department. For more information contact Maureen Nichols at 251-275-7108.

Fund set for Becky Wright at Merchants—A fund has been set up at Merchants Bank for Becky Wright. You can give at the Grove Hill, Jackson or Thomasville branches. Becky is the piano player for Salem Baptist Church. Please make your checks or donations payable to the Becky Wright Cancer Fund. All donations will go toward treatment.

Class of 1977 seeking donations for sign—The members of the Class of 1977 are partnering with the Clarke County High School leadership team to purchase a new activities sign for the school.
