Students raise over $1,000 for Salvation Army

Last month, Mrs. Dennis challenged the students of CCHS to raise the most money possible for the Salvation Army. Well, the students exceeded her expectations by raising $1,012.49.

DECA sold popcorn, the Beta Club sold pickles, SGA took up donations and cans, FCA sponsored a dress-out day, and the Spanish Club hosted a bake sale all for the Salvation Army. They did not just raise money, the Ambassadors and Beta Club volunteered as bell ringers at various places in Grove Hill.

The hustle and bustle of Christmas did not get in the way of exams, administered Dec. 17 and 18. Christmas vacation will last until Jan. 8 and report cards will be issued Jan. 15.

After students return from the Christmas holiday, the Mobile Symphony will perform in Sage Auditorium on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2:30 p.m. On behalf of CCHS, Kenneth "Pap" Kimbrough (right) presents the check to the Salvation Army for $1,012.49
